Gye Nyame Bookends
A set of authentic African bookends fashioned in the shape of the Adinkra symbol known as “Gye Nyame”. Adinkra symbols represent concepts and values and were primarily used by members of the Ashanti Kingdom.Â
This symbol is entitled “Gye Nyame” and represents the omnipotence of the Heavenly Father and translates as “Except for God”.
Carved by hand by master artisan George Obeng and his team of artisans in Ghana. Fashioned out of cedarwood with intricate detailing. Each bookend measures 8.75 inches (Height) x 7.5 inches (Width) x 10.5 inches (Depth). Weighs approximately 1 lb. A great way to add some treasures from African to your home decor.
